When I’m not on the road or travelling somewhere, I like to explore cafes in Singapore. I’m a foodie at heart but no way a food critic. I just love exploring new cafes and experiences. Of course, this includes visiting IG-worthy cafes. I have shortlisted these awesome cafes that I have visited (cafe-hopped) this year thus far. For those who’s visiting Singapore or a SG foodie instagrammer, you may want to drop by and get your cameras ready!
1. Carrotsticks and Cravings
This Aussie cafe is located in the far end of Dempsey, opened by an expat. They offer organic food and superfoods – all the healthy food and drinks (they have kombucha!) that you can think of. They have open seating and short operating hours – 8am till 3pm everyday except Sunday. We ordered açai bowl and avocado toast, which we felt the portion was little. But the positive vibes and pink hues made up for the experience.
The IG-worthy spot got to be the sofa that I’m sitting on with the logo above.
2. Merci Marcel
Another gem in Tiong Bahru neighbourhood, just beside Tiong Bahru Bakery. This French cafe reminded me of Sisterfields in Bali, especially the backyard seating. With all the sunlight, it’s one of the most instagrammable spot ever; I didn’t get the chance to have a seat there but another IG spot you can consider is the seat beside its entrance. 😀
3. Kohi-Ya Cafe
This minimalist cafe is situated at Hillview Community Centre and if you want cool breeze, tranquility and good coffee, do head over to this hidden gem. Apparently, the team behind this cafe also runs Kyu Coffee Bar in CBD. The expanse green field is the perfect photo opportunity for your #OOTD
4. White Rabbit (Rabbit Hole)
If this is not the most instagrammable cafe, then I don’t know what is. The White Rabbit is located in Dempsey, which is a beautifully-restored chapel. I would recommend to try their weekend brunch (reasonable pricing) and to have a leisure stroll at its outdoor terrace. And there you go – the lovely place for many photo opps.
5. Mavrx Coffee Apothecary
One of my favourite places to have a cuppa of good coffee and to waste my afternoon away. This hole-in-the-wall cafe is located along Duxton Road and it’s located opposite of Ninja Bowl. You can even smell the aroma of their coffee beans from far. I kid you not. At least that’s what happened to me when I was finding the cafe the first time! Potential spots will be seated indoor and get your other half to snap a photo of you from the outside.
6. Clan Cafe
This newly-opened cafe is located at Bukit Pasoh, just walking distance away from Outram Park; its location used to be the Majestic Hotel. We tried their signature cold brew and kueh salat, which were worth the try. We visited during the evening so there wasn’t much sunlight for a good shot.
7. The Botanist
This is one of the rarest cafes that I would recommend for the following: Good quality food, great coffee, awesome vibes. Some of the cafes I have been to, mostly boast of their ambience or coffee etc. But this place has everything. Located at Neil Road, its instagrammable walls and interior decor are really the perfect backdrop.
8. The Social Space
Another newly-opened cafe in Outram Park, along Kreta Ayer Rd. The Social Space is like a lifestyle cafe, which has everything under one roof – Food, Coffee, Store, Nail Salon etc. They aim to build and nurture a community on social-conscious, fair trade and high quality products. Once you step in, you’ll think that you are being transformed to a Bali cafe.
9. Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar
Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar is one of the four restaurants of COMO Dempsey. Besides eating, there’s high-end shopping as well and we caught sight of SG actor Qi Yu Wu walking past. The colonial style building will make you go ga-ga and both indoor and alfresco seating had its own good spots.
10. Wakey Wakey
I like its location at Concourse and there’s always decent crowd. Not too crowded and always a good place to chill and have quality time with my bae. Not to forget my favourite spot always for an OOTD shot. 🙂
11. Curious Palette
One of the longest standing cafe ever – the sister cafe of Strangers’ Reunion. Whenever I feel like craving something sinful, I’ll think of their Berry Ricotta Hotcake. Absolutely awesome and the cafe does have good OOTD spots.
12. A Juicery
You can’t resist pink hipster cafe in the CBD area. This cafe offers exotic drinks such as Strawberry Latte (which I ordered) and others such as Matcha Sunrise, Earl Grey Rose, and Chilli Chocolate. Any spot in the cafe would guarantee you a great photo.
So that’s all for my recommendations. What are some of your favourite IG-worthy cafes in Singapore?
