Disneyland – The happiest place on Earth and where dreams come true.
Having been to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea and Hong Kong Disneyland, visiting California Disneyland has always been on my checklist (yes there’s a lot of things on my list). Of course, we need to take the mandatory shot in front of the castle.
Tips on Visiting and Tickets – When to Visit
We booked our tickets in advance online to avoid queuing and better planning. In addition, there’s 3 different tiers of ticket pricing (Value, Regular, Peak) – we picked Tuesday which is an off-peak period as compared to other weekdays and weekend. We got our tickets at USD97 for 1-day pass.
We got a fast pass which really helped us to save time as the queue for popular rides are really long. You wouldn’t want to waste time on a single ride. You just to top-up USD10 per pax and you can schedule your ride timing on their Disneyland App.
So download the app beforehand, get the FASTPASS, and enjoy the day!
Transport – How to Get There
We didn’t arrange any transport in advance so we got Uber to and fro. One-way transport cost USD$40-50, depending on the time of booking and back to our hotel in Hollywood. Getting back to your hotel via Uber/Lyft should not be a problem. You can choose UberPool for cheaper cost as well.
We got to the Park around 10-ish am and the ride from Hollywood to Disneyland took us close to an hour. We would definitely recommend to have a heavy breakfast in hotel before heading there; as you know food is usually more expensive in theme parks. We had bagels and coffee from our hotel breakfast which saved us some cost.
Experience in Disneyland
We get to meet popular characters such as Minnie Mouse (that’s my bestie’s wishlist) and we generally got to experience a total of 10 rides. The FASTPASS really saved us time while we enjoyed the park at a more leisurely pace.
(Indiana Jones, Pirates of Carribean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Star Tours, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, King Arthur Carrousel, Mark Twain Riverboat, Astro Orbiter, Snow White’s Scary Adventures)
We got onto this Mark Twain ride and had the privilege to access the crew area.
I love carousel. And we got to ride this with Beauty and The Beast!!!
If you are in LA, I would recommend Disneyland and this memorable experience will last a lifetime! 🙂
