Our mini honeymoon at Bali Part 1

After our wedding, we flew off to Bali for our mini honeymoon for a short 3 days 2 nights stay. We got our Friend Gus to pick us up from the airport and we had some catch-up to do. It’s always a good thing to see familiar face while overseas. Gus was a guide/driver we hired 2 years ago while we were here in Bali. Great service with awesome photography skills to boot!

This time, we booked Montigo Resorts for our accommodation as we wanted to stay in Seminyak with good location at Petitenget. We considered villa-styled but none caught our interests. And we wasted no time to get some good local lunch at Biku, which was located just opp our hotel.

Clearly, our choice went to Nasi Campur. And I opted for Tumeric, lemon and honey juice for my drink.

Nothing is ever complete without massage. We walked to ReDay spa for our well-deserved full body massage and we fell asleep halfway… mentally and physically drained after our wedding. Till date, I’m still surprised by how having a wedding can totally zap your energy away and the effects lasted 1 week for me.

I bought the very first edition of Giambattistavalli x hm collaboration tulle dress that Kendall Jenner has modelled during the pre-launch. I missed it earlier this May and gotten this online. Wanted to take some pretty pics in this tulle dress before I let it go to another lucky buyer.

I love how stunning this Barbie pink is. But then again, I’ll probably won’t get to wear this again to anywhere so I’ll prefer to keep these photos as memories and considered myself “renting” this dress at $50 only (the difference between my buying and selling price). Haha

Next we went to Petitenget beach to catch sunset. Seeing sunsets at Bali is a must! Makes me feel so relaxed and at ease. And of coz to show off my newly-bought lace monokini!

I love sunsets. It gives a pleasant feeling that the day is about to end and no matter how good or bad your day has been, it’s time to count your blessings that you have live another day. Make each day count and pat yourself on the back that you have enjoyed/achieved/survived the day.

Next, it was dinner time. We booked Mamasan Bali which is a highly recommended fine dining place. We wanted to try new places so off we went.

Having been to Bali so many times, I wondered why I have not discovered this place earlier. Their food was totally out of this world and so so so amazing!!!

Their appetiser was roasted Peking duck and we expecting small portion. But nope, it came at a sizeable portion and their Peking duck tasted better than imperial treasure, as what my hubby said. And at a fraction of the price haha.

The 2 mains we got were lobster chicken and snapper fish. Couldn’t remember the exact name but we went with what the waitress recommended us. Everything was so perfect that we totally indulged and enjoyed all the food till we were so full. But you will never be too full for dessert! So we went with creme brûlée and affogato. Best combination ever. In total, this awesome dining experience only cost us SGD77. As I’m writing this, I’m missing their Peking duck already.

That sums up our first day in Bali. I’ll be updating our day trip to Nusa Penida for the next blog entry so stay tuned!
