We had an awesome lunch at Les Amis on my birthday. It’s located at the ground level of Shaw Centre, serving fine French cuisine in a posh setting.
There’s extensive selection of bread which includes sourdough, brioche with sea salt, baguette and rye and raisin. Personally I like the warm sourdough that went well with my salmon tartare entree.
Some light appetisers were served before our 2-course lunch set (thankfully we didn’t opt for 3-course as we were so full).
For entree, we went for salmon tartare and slow roasted scallop. Of course, the ultimate indulgence will be the Plantin Truffle. Hubby ordered French Turbot with truffle, which cost additional $30 on top of the lunch set. Didn’t realise this until the bill came haha.
For mains, I ordered duck breast served with pear while hubby had turbot with truffle. It was good but the gravy for the duck breast was a tad too salty for me. Dessert scored 100% in terms of presentation and taste.
The blue mountain coffee in sugar sphere with ice cream had us wow-ing! There’s plenty of cakes after as I had a surprise birthday cake by hubby.
Did we enjoy the experience? Yes. Will we go back again? Maybe not. But still worth a try for those who’d this place on their checklist.
